onest & design

Klára Tománková

The final form of novelties by Onest takes shape from our collaboration with stylist and set decorator Klára Tománková. Born in Klatovy, she majored in graphic arts and now is in fashion photography, decor, and interior styling. Among the design and lifestyle titles that she works with are Elle Decoration, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Dolce Vita and others.

Apart from the world of magazines, Klára’s work also finds its way into the commercial sector. Her refined still lifes have made her mark on brands like Hermès, Carollinum, Preciosa, Moser, Lasvit, Nespresso and Macy’s USA, to name a few. She also applies her talent and experience in film productions.

This way to interview.

“Knowing that Onest is a Czech brand makes me happy. We really click on the creative level because I like their products, and they work. It’s then easy to find inspiration and the collaboration makes sense,” Klára Tománková.

Squalene face oil and Hyaluronic face serum in the 50 ml limited edition are adorned by line drawing motifs from the pen of fashion designer and illustrator Daria Makeeva. A native of Taganrog in the Russian Federation and a graduate of the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague (Fashion and Footwear Design), she won an award from Designblok, and with her sister Maria participated in the Křehký Mikulov project, for instance.

The motifs in the drawings work with the theme of a supple and elastic structure, loosely resembling the fibrous structure of leather. Each of the motifs is different and yet they somehow interconnect. The drawings snake around each box, crawling from one to the other, creating an endless loop...

The flacons that hold our cleaners were designed by WRKS, a Prague-based studio priding itself on 10 years in product design. The duo, Jan Kopřiva and Daniel Pavlík, said yes to our offer to breathe life into the container design, and they comment:

„“The visual values that Onest holds resonate with us. We were particularly impressed by the emphasis placed on the simplicity, lightness and naturalness of the clean design. Projects that make us face new challenges, topics, materials, or even industries always have our attention.”

The design of the flacons – bottles is dominated by a clean shape broken up by a delicate and yet natural diagonal that elaborates on the characteristic letter N locked in the Onest logotype. Our work thus logically follows the Onest paper boxes designed by Jan Činčera.” Jan Kopřiva, WRKS.

Petr Karšulín

Freelance photographer based in Prague majored in Advertising Photography at Tomas Bata University in Zlín, Czech republic. He is passionate about design and nding beautiful old things, to which he can give new life either by taking photos, or by reusing them. Petr collaborates with prestigious lifestyle magazines (Elle Decoration, Harper’s Bazaar, etc.), designers and architects.

“The idea of the photos goes hand in hand with the fact that squalane has been existing since the very beginning of life on the Earth and the visual concept behind these photos naturally emerged from this idea – water cell structures which I could literally plunge into. Squalane face oil con rms my idea that coming back to basics and pure nature makes perfect sense.”

Karin Zadrick

Our first collaborator is Karin Zadrick, A. M. Born in Opava, Czech republic; she majored in Conceptual tendencies at FaVU VUT in Brno and Graphic design, marketing and advertizing at SUPŠ in Ostrava, Czech republic. Karin Zadrick’s photography and multimedia work follows a thin red line of interest at the given moment, whether it is a landscape, a portrait, a piece of clothing, a paper boat, or a feather given to her by her son. She loves deep black color which cannot exist without absolute white. And there we met …
